Morning Musing – Guidance for Your Day (whatever day you come upon it!)

Happy Valentine’s Day! I thought it would be helpful to get a little guidance for the day ahead. I hope you find it helpful! Love to you all! Nancy

The Vision…
I am looking at a red rose from the top of the flower. The petals make curved patterns of light and dark. I am drawn to the shaded parts of the petals. There the deep red becomes almost black. I feel myself melting into one such place. I’m hidden in its folds and feel a gentle feeling of peace.

The Reflection…
Roses are such interesting symbols. They have thorns while at the same time having such a lovely scent and beautiful petals. We are like that aren’t we? Lovely and prickly depending on our mood. When I imagine myself as the flower, I feel myself as the dark, still spaces and also as the bright light-filled quality as well. Sometimes, I am more drawn to one aspect or the other. Both, though, are always present.

The Intention…
Today, I will let myself rest in the hidden parts of myself, allowing their quietness to fill me with peace. Today, I will remember to love all of me, even the thorns.

I pray it is so, and so it is…

Trusting the Inner Child

I went for a polarity therapy session with my dear friend Polly last week.  I work with Polly once a month and it is always an empowering experience.  This last session led to an understanding about my inner child which was truly mind-blowing.  Instead of the vulnerable, sweet, needy child-self that I have thought belonged to me all of my life, what came through as I connected was a wise, powerful, all-knowing being who held the knowledge of how to function in this new vibrational plane we live in.  The message I received was that the inner child had been hidden behind emotional constructs waiting until the day would arrive when we lived in a vibrational world that this self knew how to operate in.  It was as if this aspect of the psyche held the DNA for the new species we are evolving into.

I do believe we are in the midst of evolving, though I suppose this is always true.  After all, life demands constant change as we learn to adapt to our world.  I feel though this is a most significant shift – A move from operating from the fear-centered aspect of the brain, to using the frontal lobe which is motivated by love.  Based on this last week’s session, it seems the inner child is the one who holds the key to all of this.

So what does this mean?  Take a moment to connect with your true inner child and imagine that she is the one, not the adult self, who has all the answers.  Imagine that the child is the part of us that knows how to live from love, to follow love, and to trust love.  Imagine this child is strong and confident, not in need of your adult protection.  What happens when the inner self becomes the wise and sturdy part?

For me, it means the outer part can finally relax.  I can let myself laugh more, love more, and enjoy life more.  It also means that I can trust this inner child to guide me when I consciously don’t have the answers.  I can trust that I hold within me the part that knows how to create whatever I choose to experience, so I can finally experience my life as something joyful.

At first, this idea completely threw me.  To view my inner child in this way went against a lifetime of perceiving the inner child as the weak link in my chain mail.  But on reflection, it makes perfect sense that the opposite is actually true.  After all, didn’t Jesus say that you must be as a child to get through the gates of Heaven?  And isn’t it true that children are the ones who know how to live in the moment, to laugh, to cry, to freely express who they are without self-editing?  Aren’t they the ones who are resilient, letting life roll along without holding on tightly?  Isn’t that the only way to live from love?

What a beautiful thing to know that is who we are too!  I find just saying “I trust my inner child” sends a whole ripple of energy through my being, lightening and brightening my sense of self. What a relief!

I invite you to spend some time getting to know your own inner child as she exists beyond the emotional constructs where we have hidden her. See what it feels like when this strong, wise self comes to life in the core of you.  I am excited to see what comes from this shift in me and in us all.

Much love to you all!

Nancy

Grow Your Gifts Meditation – Inner Sun

I connect with the warmth of my inner sun, knowing it lights my way and warms my heart.
I connect with the warmth of my inner sun, knowing it lights my way and warms my heart.

It is bitterly cold in Ohio right now. The weather is making it very difficult to be outdoors as much as I like to be.  It is a good time to remember we can always connect and bring in the energy of Mother Earth, even if we aren’t able to be directly outdoors.  Take a moment to connect with this image, feeling the warmth of the sun and the bright, freshness to the air to recharge your own inner sun.  Eventually, the sun will bring spring again.  We might as well take this time to dream within of what we wish to see bloom when the season changes.

How to Work with the Image to Support the Process

  • Take a moment to center yourself.  Close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly three times.  Let your exhale be longer than your inhale.
  • Open your eyes and focus on the image.  Ask your Spiritual Support Team to help you come into harmonic resonance with the image and to receive the amount of energy from the essence of the place for your highest and best good.
  • Use your imagination to put yourself in the photo.  Use all your senses to interact with what is shown.  What do you feel, see, hear, smell, taste and touch as you connect?
  • Ask for Divine guidance on how you can incorporate the gifts from this essence into your own life and situation.  Allow yourself to feel the love and support flowing to you and through you from the Earth and the Divine.
  • Repeat the affirmation (see caption) as you breathe in and out slowly.
  • Be open to any additional thoughts, sounds, smells, or images that come to you as you are working with the photo.  Consider these as messages to support you on your path.  Ask what these impressions mean to you.  What do they make you think or feel?
  • Continue to recall the image throughout the day when you wish to bring in the energy it provides.
  • Express your gratitude for the gifts given to you through the experience.

Much love to you all!

How to Raise Your Vibration this winter season!

Last night, I hosted a call with my dear friend and mentor, Jaap Van Etten.  It was part of my Raise Your Vibration-Become Divinely You Program.  As I was thinking about the call this morning, I went back to my first career of teaching.  I taught elementary school for eighteen years.  One of the techniques we used was to come up with a focus question for what the children were intended to learn.  The lesson would then include the sharing of information, the modeling of application of the information, and then opportunities for the children to practice on their own.  Looking back at last night’s call, I felt this technique would be helpful to really summarize what I learned last night.

Focus Question:  How can I raise my vibration to become Divinely me this winter?

Invoke Divine support by connecting with Archangel Gabriel and Archangel Michael

Jaap shared that Archangel Gabriel brings a connection to the element of air and the mental body.  He helps us to connect to our higher mind, so we are able to come from love in our thinking.  Archangel Michael brings a connection to the element of fire and the spiritual body.  This spark helps to inspire new ideas and inspiration to be born in the spring.

Connect with my deepest self by going within

Jaap reminded us that when we come into harmony with the natural cycles of life, we are called to honor that winter is the time for introspection and retreat.  Making time for meditation and quiet reflection allows the opportunity to review what has occurred and understand what changes are needed.

Receive the love coming to me

Jaap reminded us that we live in an abundant Universe and part of the process of raising our vibration is clearing away the fears that block us from receiving the love coming to us.  It is also about taking the time to really love and appreciate who we are.  By going with in and taking time to reflect, we are able to receive the wisdom and love available to us.

Breathe deeply

The opportunity to connect with the element of air occurs every time we breathe in.  Jaap shared the importance of paying attention to your breathing to consciously bring in the winds of change.  It reminded me that this time of year it is easy to become stagnant, breathing shallowly and not moving enough.  By connecting with the element of air, we can move out the old and bring in the new!

Bend without breaking

This learning came not from the knowledge shared, but from the experience of the call itself.  We had a few technological glitches during the call requiring me to shift gears and improvise.  It reminded me that this too is an aspect of winter.  That which becomes brittle and stiff breaks off.  Letting go of rigid thought patterns or holding to agendas doesn’t allow change to occur.  Being flexible allows things to be molded by the hand of the Divine in the highest and best way, something we often can’t see from our perspective.

In conclusion, I have written the following affirmation for myself to help me stay focused on my intention.   Feel free to borrow it or come up with one of your own!

I gratefully receive the love and support of Archangel Gabriel and Archangel Michael, connecting with love to my highest self, breathing deeply, and flowing with the changes new life brings.

Wishing you all a peaceful and insightful winter season!

Love,

Nancy

Discovering Your “Promised Land”

Happy New Year!

2013 is now officially over and for many of us it was a deeply transformational year. As the new calendar year begins, I asked for some insights about the year ahead. What I heard intuitively was that this year I should focus on finding my own “promised land” and then help others to find what this means for them. Moses and the story of the trip through the desert is something that has offered great insights metaphorically for me, as I have changed and grown these last few years. What if we are actually approaching the time when we step out of the desert into a new land? What does this new landscape look like for you? What does it look like for me?

It occurs to me that rather than being a place we create, that it is instead a matter of discovering what is already here. It feels to me we are learning to expand our awareness, finding the deeply beautiful when we look beyond the narrow view of our ego and connect with our soul’s perspective. I had a simple example of this yesterday. I tend to get cold easily and as I was falling asleep last night I found myself wishing to just feel comfortably warm for a change. I found myself looking back over the day and being gently offered all the moments where I did feel this warmth. A heated seat in the vehicle I was riding in, an infrared heater overhead at the restaurant I was eating at, warm fleece pants, soft slippers, and cozy wool socks and the warmth of the water as I washed dishes. All of these little moments were filled with that glorious warm feeling and I had experienced many of them during the day. What if it is this simple? What if, instead of trying to find what we are seeking this year, we just need to notice that it is already here?

On that note, I want to share a passage from one of my all time favorite books – The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.

“The veil that clouds your eyes shall be lifted by the hands that wove it, And the clay that fills your ears shall be pierced by those fingers that kneaded it. And you shall see. And you shall hear. Yet you shall not deplore having known blindness, nor regret having been deaf.”

This year, I invite you all to join me in looking at our lives, our loved ones, and ourselves through the eyes of love. As we allow the fear “veil” to lift, perhaps we will find that we are already home – that in truth, we have always had the “promised land” within.

Wishing you all a beautiful New Year’s Day and a very happy, abundant 2014!

With love,
Nancy

Happy Holidays!

I hope you are all having a wonderful time celebrating!  I love the feel of turtle energy. It is so gentle, calm and steady.  It felt like a good energy to connect with as we head into 2014.  I wish you all peace within your own being, love in your hearts and lives, and a joyous year ahead!  Below are some directions to work with the energy of the image.

Morning Musing – Guidance for Your Day!

A little guidance for your day…whatever day you come upon it!

oak tree with large holeThe Vision…

I see a beautiful oak tree with a hole in the middle of the trunk.  I walk up to the tree and reach into the hole.  I pull out a long snake.  The snake winds around my right arm and rests its head on my shoulder.  I can feel the warmth of the snake’s body on my arm.  I stroke the snake’s head and sit down at the base of the tree.

The Reflection…

Oaks are very strong and sturdy trees.  They grow very large and can be quite old before they die.  Snakes shed their skin when they need a fresh start.  They are also a symbol of death and rebirth.  The right side of the body is often associated with masculine energy and also the present.

The Intention…

Today, I will let the way I take action and respond to my world be transformed.  I will relax and let the old die and the new be born.  I will rest in my own inner strength and trust I have what I need to make this change with ease.

I pray it is so, and so it is…

Morning Musing – Guidance For Your Day!

crabThe Vision…

I see a tiny crab climbing up out of a hole in the sand.  I am seeing things from the crab’s point of view.  It is in this dark, sandy tunnel and there is a pinprick of light it is moving towards.  The light is covered up from a shift in the sand, but the crab keeps climbing.  It knows the light is still there even if it can’t see it.

Insight…

We have just gone through a period of time that has required us to travel deep inside ourselves, searching for the truth of who we are and what we care about.  The journey back to the light of day hasn’t been easy, and sometimes, just as is happening for the crab, the light isn’t visible.  That doesn’t mean it isn’t there though.  Like the crab, we just need to keep going.

Intention…

Today, I will remember where I am going.  I choose to love myself, the Earth, the Divine, and all the wonderful people in my world.  Today, I will be like the crab and keep heading up toward the light.

I pray it is so, and so it is…

A Thanksgiving Gift For You…

Each week, I record a short inspirational recording sharing a technique or insight to empower those in my soul friends community.  In September, I shared a simple yoga mudra I created to bring peace. The affirmation that came through with the technique fits so well with this Morning Musing that I decided to share it.  It is 3 minutes long.  You can access the link here:  Meditation for Peace

Wishing you all a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving!

Being Real – Courage Required!

MP900262642“What the world needs now is for each of us to be who we truly are, and to bring our gifts into the world. Don’t hold back any longer. Be Present. Be You. That is enough.  Really it is.”  Nancy Bishop

I’ve been having a hard time getting myself to share on my blogs or Facebook lately.  I am an introvert by nature and putting myself out there in a public way isn’t easy for me sometimes, especially when I am feeling a bit vulnerable.  I have spent the last few months really coming into alignment with my North Node (spiritual path/authenticity) which means I have had to change a lot of things in myself and in the way that self is expressed.  One of the things that I have learned is that it is vital for my well-being and happiness to have safe places to share what I am experiencing and going through. That is a big reason why I created my soul friends community and Sanctuary at the Crossroads (my virtual retreat).  It gives me a group of people I trust and who trust me to become the most authentic version of myself I can be.

I think we all need that safe space to learn how to become who we are.  We all have learned to live in the world by playing different roles.  When we are in a role that everyone knows, we fit in and can function with the whole.  We know what the rules are and how we are supposed to behave.  I feel we are going through a shift vibrationally that is making playing roles that aren’t in alignment with our North Node almost like having an allergy.  It becomes intolerable for all aspects of ourselves and we are forced to change.

This brings us to the title of this post.  Being real takes courage.  It isn’t easy to step fully into who you are when the people around you are expecting you to be who you have been.  And yet, what magic occurs when we do!  When we are able to look beyond the loss of those who no longer resonate with our truth and see all the beauty of those who are drawn into our world as a result of our having the courage to be true to ourselves, then we are able to see that being real is worth it.  That safe space comes into being because we begin to resonate with our truth and our truth creates around us the perfect environment to support our growth and unfoldment.  We find our home and our family.

This morning, I heard my Angels say that my virtual retreat, Sanctuary at the Crossroads, is meant to become a playground.  This playground offers a safe, protected space where people can explore, play, and try new things that empower them to be who they are.  By filling it with those who resonate with who I am, it also offers companions who genuinely want to be real and for those they connect with to be real too.  Our world doesn’t offer a lot of places yet where the whole purpose is just for everyone to be WHO THEY ARE.  That is what I want to create…for myself as much as for anyone else.  Let’s all just commit to doing what is ours to do.  As Joseph Campbell said, “The greatest privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”  I believe it is time we fully take advantage of this privilege.  After all, it is the very best gift we can give our world.

Love to all!

Nancy

PS. If you are interested in learning more about your north node, I highly recommend the book Astrology for the Soul by Jan Spiller.  I have been using it myself and with clients a lot lately and it is amazingly on target for giving insights about who we are in this lifetime and what will work for us and what will not.

Claiming Your Energetic Space

This month, the key word is “protection” and one of the best means of protecting ourselves is claiming our energetic space.  Here is a technique working with Angelic support that I have found to be really effective.  You can use this for any space you are heading into during the day or for your home.  It is also really helpful if you are going to be in a situation that may become tense or confrontational.

Claiming Your Energetic Space

Set the intention for how you want to feel (harmonious, safe, happy, relaxed, etc).

Ask the Angels to go forth into the space and TRANSFORM and TRANSMUTE all chaotic and disruptive energies into streams of harmonious vibrations.

Ask the Angels to continue to monitor the environment(s) so they are in harmony with your system at all times.  Invoke this for all environments you will be in (including the car or plane if you are traveling).

Ask Archangel Michael to set up your energetic system in the highest and best way to allow you to be comfortable and safe in the environments you are in.

Give Archangel Michael permission to adjust your energy system as needed to keep you comfortable and safe throughout your day.

Intend that you will experience what you have requested.  Release and trust you will be guided to make it so.

Have a wonderful day!

Nancy
