This month’s focus archetype (personality aspect) is the Creator. I have to say I’m more excited about this one, then I was last month’s Destroyer archetype (then again, the Destroyer did help me completely un-clutter my home and business so I shouldn’t be complaining!). The Creator is the aspect of the psyche that helps us build what we want in our life. It is the aspect of ourselves that wakes up in the middle of the night with creative ideas. It writes stories, invents new products, draws, cooks unique new dishes, finds inventive solutions to problems, and redecorates the home. It comes up with ideas that fill us with passion and joy. It helps us to create a life we really love!
I’m all for building a life I love. It has been my own personal theme this year. Not to say that I didn’t already love some aspects of my life. I have a great husband and two wonderful sons. I absolutely love my work as an intuitive life coach too. And of course I really love all my wonderful Soul Friends! The things I haven’t liked so much are those activities that aren’t fulfilling and are often stressful. Now we all have some tasks that aren’t exactly a joy to do, but we do enjoy having them done (washing the floor, grocery shopping, etc). I’m not talking about those things (though I have made some adjustments to make those tasks less stressful and time consuming too). What I am talking about is all the things I’ve felt like I “have to” do, but haven’t really wanted to do because of the time and energy it takes to do them. Some of that has been trying to manage and update multiple websites, Facebook pages, and Twitter Accounts. Some of it has been creating, planning, and implementing events all on my own. Other parts are email reminders, accounting, and other aspects of maintaining the business (none of which were automated). I also haven’t wanted to give up my coaching time to go to my other job as a third grade teacher.
As I mentioned in my last post, I started working with Lauren May (an Organizational Coach) in May. Through this process, I’ve really become much clearer on what I love in my life and what I don’t want to do anymore. One of the things that have become very clear is that I love having my own business and doing the work I do as a coach. I feel it is my life’s work and being self-employed really suits my highly sensitive system. So, as Lauren recommends…I’ve decided to set my intention to doing exactly that!
How am I going to do that? Well, I’ve had to make some changes in all areas of my life. Essentially, I’ve cleared out things that were sucking my energy and have been adding things in that give me energy. I’ve also streamlined my business and automated a lot of features so that I won’t have so much updating to do. I’m going to be using my website blogs to communicate (you can subscribe to the blogs and be informed by email when new items are posted either immediately, daily or weekly). I also came up with a financial plan (thank you Financial Coach, Laurie Price!) that shows me how I can make my career transition to self-employment a reality.
One of the things on this plan is an increase in my rates. I have really struggled with this part. It is very important to me that those who need my help are able to have it without it becoming a financial hardship. I also know that if I don’t make this change, I will always have less time and energy available to work with those who need my support. As Lauren has taught me, there is always a way to make things work so that you are comfortable with it. What I’ve come up with is a variety of ways to work with me at varying price levels. Subscribing to my blog is a free option that will allow you to receive articles, tips, and other free support from me on a regular basis (sign up by adding your email into the box on the right side of the page). The Soul Friends’ Community offers a monthly call with me, email discussion, and a significant discount on private sessions for only $5/month. I’m also going to be offering a monthly call on the theme of the month that will be open to everyone for only $10/month (Soul Friend’s Members can participate for free). I am going to continue to offer special programs with small group interaction along with the individual empowerment readings. As we go along, I’m hoping to offer some other special opportunities to work with me as well.
So, as I begin this new phase of my life and my work, I want to say thank you to all of you who have been with me from the very beginning and to those who have joined along the way. I couldn’t have got here without you! Thank you for your love, support and enrichment you have brought to my life! I look forward to our future adventures!
